Thanks very much for providing these pics , especially this old Atki it would have hauled alluminium sheet from Alcoa to Metal Box Aintree orWest Houghton, i can remember talking to one of there drivers at the Raven at Prees heath , with return loads of scrap or eggs . thanks again regards keith

hi Dai thanks for putting these photos on fore me. This truck was driven by Paul Hughs aka the Flyer. Normal day’s work was 25 -30 drops in the west midlands in a day (thats where the name came from.

Hi Kieth this was one of my dads lorries, I think it was around the Builth area, driver got out ok, the other driver fell to sleep went up the bank and roll over on top of our lorry
Where is Paul aka flyer these days I haven’t seen him for must be25 years,I do alot of work around penclawdd and the gower.

Hello Dai jones thank you for your reply , your father operated a very smart fleet from the Gower , to reiterate i remember them at Alcoa , heading north to the Metal box factories , and i believe on occasions it would be as far as Carlisle , and more locally Perry Wood Worcester . thank you regards Keith .
