1Hi Pete 359 seeing that pic of the atki with VWN reg no reminds me of the first artic I drove a GUY Big J and the reg number was VWN 475H, don’t suppose any one on this thread knows any history. She had a 180 Gardiner and 6 speed DB box and although I drove it out of a Cornwall base she ended up back in Southampton on containers, cheers Buzzer.

Its not an ex Valley Carriers as they were on Glamorgan reg numbers, I think VWN was Swansea

Hello keith, waiting for Dai jones to find the photos of john jones from crofty, so as he got them he will let me know. I had a friend who worked for j,jones, he had an aec, and did a lot to lancs and return with eggs for the Gower.

EJ- Cardiganshire, EP-Montgomreyshire, EU- Brecknockshire, EY - Anglesey, FF-Merionethshire, FO-Radnorshire. HB - Merthyr Tydfil, JC- Caernarvonshire, KG - Cardiff, L - Glamorganshire, NY - Glamorganshire, TG - Glamorganshire, TH - Carmarthenshire, TX - Glamorganshire, UH - Cardiff, VJ - Herefordshire, WN - Swansea. These characters were used from the earliest registrations up to ZZZ999Z. Thereafter they were reallocated, some of the above ‘Welsh’ marks being assigned to England.
