Strange how certain things stick in your mind.a fairly recent one for me was seeing our mate Gareth’s Transcon after a nasty front left blow out it fair shook me up that she’s seen here in happier times at work in the late 80’s early 90’s,pulling for Nolan’s with mike o’hara’s foden.

Hello Andrew did you see the jet powered Pete in the Sun today 36,000 HP
it has managed 376 MPH, that’d get you round the shows in quick time and
and you’d be able to get the beers in long before the rest of you’re gang got
anywhere near the showground. thought you might be interested.

Thanks,Yes I did see the article in the sun mine isn’t quite as powerful as that,though it does go very well .scooter1,I wasn’t sure if that photo had been posted before.i have some more from m4dogwalker to post soon…

Interesting to read about volvo in castleton we had 2 daf 85 tractors stolen in ocober and one of those was found in castleton also burnt out and just cab left to identify it, local called police but they were late getting there and culprits had gone, second daf never been recovered

They must have had another yard somewhere, because when I used to go past that yard in the late 60’s, it didn’t look very big. Unless like a lot of firms in those days, the drivers took the wagons home.
