hello all.
this scammell came to grief just outside mount pleasant on the old A470 near merthyr vale when cliffy jones rip hit a sheep and ended up arse first down into a field,i was there assisting with the O&K RH4 along with a recovery crowd,barry had bought the scammell off dickie westcott of porthcawl and the index was iirc DTG 671J .

The load on this motor appears to be an MG paper cylinder( Machine Glazed) so it could have been shot around Bury or Bolton where they were manufactured in the UK.In the mid '70’s Wynns brought a new Cylinder to the Mill at Beetham that we ran out of.They loaded it on a barge at Preston and it went to Barrow where it was sent by road to Beetham,I believe it was too high for M/Way bridges.Cheers Dennis.
