Hi all, Ant great shots from Barry Cosslett. I am hoping Graham (gbh1) will be able to give us some more info on the locations.
Must of been mid to late 80s, those F7s were originally on the shale out of Nantgarw iirc. K&J Withey steel bodies with aluminum extensions for coal as seen on one of the three motors.
Regards Paul.

hello paul,
the picture with the three f7s is the six bells colliery, there was a tip there that was taken by road up into abertillery town and a very big void was filled on the north side of the bridge,as you quite rightly stated a fleet of volvos and bisons were employed with the shale removal from nantgarw up to the tip behind the test beds, Cossletts were involved moving the Brad tip down to the levelled east moors steelworks and you may remember the volvos belonging to gordon brown of otley yorks there as well, around 6 or 7 f7s were acquired from yemms iirc but those were slightly longer wheelbases but still carried out bulk muck excavations ,if anthony can put some more on that would be good.
