Hi all,
Another from m4dogwalker,at the Warminster stop on the Bournemouth to bath run? Looks like John pomeroy in his trademark hat standing next to Shaun Swain’s aec monarch.
Hi all, another cracking photo there Steve probably one of the last 88s put on the road.
I remember a few new T reg F10s in Leiners colours, dark blue and white going in to service.
I can’t recall Glyn John delivering many HY-MACs, especially as the one pictured loaded seems to far back. It should of been slewed 180 degrees to even the weight out and get the boom and dipper lower.
D.L. Blake of Merthyr done most of the U.K. work with the same type of trailer, and LLoyds of Ludlow the International work.
Andrew and Neil, not sure if you’ve checked Biglorryblog lately. There’s a follow up on Martin Pippards birthday with both your tractors on show. A few different photo’s there to the one’s shown on the Old Time site.
Regards Paul.
hi paul john do you remember Moscow bevan rip with his flat top f10 he loved it and norman brown rip with his 88 in liner coulers glyn john was one hell of an outfit it seemed to me all the drivers looked after their lorries regards rowly
Hi Rowly, I didn’t know any of the guys you mentioned but spoke to quite a few when they ran out of Natural Gas Tubes before John Raymond undercut them. Jeff Williams from Rhymney worked for them in their latter years. That was when they ran Ivecos.
They were a traditional general haulage company for sure.
Regards Paul.
Paul John have you seen this book?
