HI all. Thanks Andrew for posting the photos of 701 the International Prostar Eagle, the first of three we had in two years.
All three had the 13l Navistar Massive EGR with DPF. Regen issues have seen the Peterbilt 379s arrive 15l ■■■■■■■ ISX motors, EGR,SCR and DPF.
This Pete is a base motor but rides, handles and outperforms the International in every aspect of operation.
Mind you between three of us we put 7000 miles on it each week, so 100,000 will be the next benchmark, as we just had it serviced at 30,000 miles.
The company normally trade them at 12/14 months or 430/450,000 miles.
Regards Paul.
Thankyou Gary, yes be great to see a photo of her as she was, there is a photo of 431 going through Edinburugh in Stirlands colours , im sure that’s on flickr , did see it though.

Hi Graham, you are right there, 53 ft trailer as well. In Florida you can pull 57 ft trailers with special permits, although the centre of your tandem axle and kingpin cant be more than 41ft, the same as 48 and 53 ft trailers. You can just imagine the over-hang and tail swing.
Looking back, I find it incredible how we used to get up and down the valleys on narrow roads, tight corners and long steep hills. Well, they seem that way nowadays, but at that time they were run of the mill main roads.
You may have special steering trailers these days, but you are the man when it comes to navigating all sorts of roads and loads.
My line haul job doesn’t come close when it comes to stature, or satisfaction.
Regards Paul.
But its so clean Paul John no steelworks ■■■■ on that one enjoy…

Hi Cliff, yes it does clean up nice and its just road grime. No steelworks or collieries on this job.
Running in the Southern States only, so no snow or salt as up north. The salt plays havoc with paintwork and chassis corrosion.
The truck does work hard, 6 days a week just short of 1200 miles /day. There is myself and 2 other drivers, 2 on duty, one off on a rotating basis.
The only day we are all off is Monday, the truck is parked for 23 hours, otherwise 70 mph, on cruise control for 900 of 1200 miles the rest of the week.
We meet a team coming out of Dallas about half way, switch trailers and head back to Orlando. One driver on days, the other on nights, there’s 2 trips /day x 6 = 12 in total. We do 4 trips each, piece of cake, except working weekends.
I just hired a part timer, and had Fri, Sat, Sun and today Monday off. I am sure I will struggle a bit at 4.30am tomorrow.
Regards Paul.
