J.Watkins was a good friend of the Thomas,s and often let us pack the trailers at their yard for a quick change over.

sorry mate, I meant Illtyd Thomas, I went in Watkins yard once 3 am to pick a trailer up for 8 am tip down newton abbot.

Thanks Dai, that yard is still there ,now let to various firms & still owned by J.M,s son John Watkins,you probably know that there are two books on South Wales Transport companies,“Road Transport Gwent” which has Watkins lorries on front cover,the other is “Road Transport South East Wales” both by Paul Heaton.

Hi Deecee, do you know if those books by Paul Heaton are still available. I tried a few years back to get them, had my father go to some guys house who supposedly had them in stock, but wasn’t able to get either one.

Dave I have the three prints that you have that Alan did and were available through Truck/ Truck & Driver years ago.
Harold Kelly’s Guy is one of them, and they are normally on my office wall, but decorated last week so need to find them a bit sharp and hang them up. Great period shots, and quality.
