you cant beat the sign writer, work of art, not like todays stuff, sticky tape stuck to plain white trucks, most companies today are white colour trucks.

Interesting shot there Dai,when I was a trailer mate at Brady’s we used to run into The Abbey every week(more-or-less) with 22ton of Signode strapping that was made at Barrow Steel Works,the clips would likely be delivered from another source ! Cheers Dennis.

an erf from turner’s of blaenant,loaded with ebbw vale coil.

Hi Dennis, Signode made the clips in Swansea, Coated strip in Walsall did the colour coat & printing. coated strip was next to the R.A.C j9 m6 Walsall, Hayes transport were running out of coated strip.

That be Phil Marks who gave up being an owner driver a few years ago and Roy Davies tipping box culverts made by Albion Concrete in Llangadog .It was a long haul up there

Member marathon1975,has agreed to share this picture of an Albion that his father bought second hand.pear tree haulage were from Dudley-ish :laughing: though this motor has a welsh reg :question:anyone recognise it :question:

Hi Andrew, I think that Pear Tree were from West Bromwich, Hill top I think, somewhere I recall the owners, (Cannot remember his name, but it will come back…I expect), son posted on one of the threads.

Do you know I think they had a Saviem from the Dealer that they had at Great Barr Birmingham…Ron■■? the salesman.

Nice livery, sort of a rich cream and brown… fairly mixed fleet. Am I becoming an anorak??

You was right dad and unclie did have a saviem unit but from what my dad told me it got rolled over they recab it sold it on you was right the last yard was hill top witton lane then saviem was got from newton rd i belive the colours was rover almond light tan
