Hi mark,
Seasons greetings to you mate.regarding the quiz, sorry but that isnât the answer I have been given whereâs rowly,mechanic77 (who keeps quizzing me for clues on Facebook) I think my old mate ec14 would be favourite to guess correctly !!! Dave the renegade is nearest so far,as my very reliable source (bob) tells me that bill entress bought the third new Volvo truck out of griffin mill way back then
Mansel Davies are Volvo agents now,but could have bought their first F86 from Griffin Mill.Just think back who ra Volvoâs,quite a few I suppose.

Hi chaps at a wild guess my money would be on Cyril Williams Brynmawr , a well publicised F86 at the time on an F plate regards keith
Hi Keith,
In true competitor spirit the results have been exposed in reverse order, dave correctly guessed third (entress) Keith you have just correctly guessed second (cyril williams of brynmawr) though the first one sold is still proving difficult to guess :
Regards andrew.
Dave the Renegade:
Could be someone like Baldryâs Transport.

Cheers Dave.

Baldrys were from Orcop. They had quite a few lorries out there at one time.Alan is Freds son and ran out of Watkins old yard at Mansons Cross,Monmouth.Greenlands were also owned by Baldrys.Happy Xmas and a Happy New year to all.May you enjoy good health and happiness.Regards Rich.
to be fair, i have never heard of Baldrys transport, did they buy it from the Griffins garage in Ross on wye or Pontypridd.
not sure which was opened first but guessing it would be pontypridd, the f86 was very popular around the borders griffin mill sold loads around hereford to Bulmers, Sun valley poultry etc.
anyone know who bought the first 88!

hi holhan48,
i dare say that f86 was from pontypridd, the old place near the town centre.got it in my head? they were bedford dealers before volvo? wouldnât be the first time i have got it wrong though remember going there (upper boat) as a kid, before they moved to the later facility overlooking the a470.with regard to the first f88,again i wouldnât know the correct answer.a good guess would be caswellâs or evans of brynmawr.maybe the one bookworm mentioned was the first i am guessing the first f88 in wales would be a g or h reg j&m transport on stormy down had ytg 480h,but they bought that one second hand with a kipppered engine
regards andrew.
