Hi all. Neil, nice to see the 142 is in good shape.
I used to get a real feel of satisfaction leaving a test station with a first time pass, be it our families motors which my cousin and I worked on (mid 70s), Henlly’s customers (mid 80s), my own (late 80s) and Gulliver’s Cardiff early (90s).
Here in the States annual DOT inspections are done by fleets own people. Certification is required for the fitter, who passes his own work! Repair shops also do their own inspections. Its a joke really. No six week inspections neither. No steam cleaning or pressure wash required, let alone roller break test…
Talking of certificate of fitness as the old PSV annual was called, passed mine last week, just finished my first week back after 10 weeks off. Tripple by pass behind me, Interstate ahead.
Silly season at the U.S. Postal service is approaching, better get myself up to speed.
Regards Paul.

I remember some of those Mercedes being parked up in the corner of the yard back 2003 when I started my apprenticeship with S&K, this was like an impromptu stores as I seem to remember one good unit being made out of about three! I can hear the sound of those EPS solenoid valves now!
Great pics too.
Regards
Simon.
