driven by Dave, who went on to work with me at TNT Deeside on the Newsfast job…now that was a job!..Wapping 1986?, wish I had taken my camera, we used to have a lone picket turn up at TNT Deeside, we used to offer him tea!!
I worked on the newsfast contract from 1986 to 1988 trunking to Wapping from Exeter, I remember the Deeside lads (depot 47 Flint)? as we were the furthest away, we were always loaded in the first six, along with the Ramsbottom and Rotherham drivers, also some where else up north and the great Llantrisant and Bristol guys, great days, very strong memories of being very scared going through 1000s of brick throwing pickets. Batten down the hatches were going in.

Hi Derrick,
Thanks for your post.my cousin drove for Howells Richards transport,Mathew jury he was from coy church,he may have worked there the same time as you?
Regards Andrew.
Well, I have not seen many FHs up close, but it seems to be the front end has been reworked. The windscreen, roof line and grill. Yet to see the interior, but believe the new independent suspension is only available on left hand drive at present.
The Retro show is having a TRUCK NET MEETING Zone at the show, so a great place to put a face to the name, 2 of the organisers girls will be on hand to give out TRUCKNET badges, so you can meet the real Pete 359, or Mechanic 77…for sure! No surprise it will be in the large undercover area near the beer tent
There was also a few classics at the launch…Volvo are at the Retro Truck Show on the 15/16th September, whats the chance of seeing them there with this great new truck?
There is a great pod cast on U tube, and Volvo web site!
