hi all, quick question. im sure theres a low bridge on the south circular, does anyone know the hieght of it and where it is? (from memory i think its catford way?)

Could be the bridge at West Dulwich Tube Station in Thurlow Park Road, marked as 15ft - 4.6m, or Catford Road outside Wickes is 4.8m - 15’ 9".
There is one at st mildreds rd just before catford think its 14 ft 9.

That one at tulse hill though is at least 3" higher than stated, i dont know how much higher as i had my eyes shut at the time !
I’ve been under the Tulse Hill bridge in a rigid 18 tonner that was marked as 14ft. I had a few inches to spare according the taxi driver who watched me hanging out of the cab trying to see as I went under!
I used to hate doing South London when I was on the car transporter. Far too many low bridges for my liking!

This one is 13’9" but you’re told by transport offices that your 13’9" wagon will go under it OK…

to give a max headroom of 16’6" ■■?

^^^ how long will it be until resurfacing work on the M1 means hightops start hitting the bottom of the oldest bridges already there?
You can already see chip marks under a lot of them J6-J12 in particular!
