It seems that Extinction Rebellion and Just Stop Oil are being funded by a coalition of wealthy individuals from California, including Aileen Getty, grand daughter of J.Paul, and some money filters down to the activists on the ground. The weekend’s Times quoted a spokesman of the group conceding that some people receive a small income.
Aileen getty’s family fund is an estimated £3.7 billion and funds the (CEF) Climate Emergency Fund which in turn gives grants to activists around the world, inc Just Stop Oil sparking accusations that foreign millionaires are funding eco terrorists to do their dirty work in public for them.
Ms.Getty is said to have given personally USD 1 million to the organisation. The CEF,itself,is said to have given over £6 million to groups such as Extinction Rebellion and just Stop Oil.,some of whose activists have thrown chocolate cake at a waxwork of king Charles in Mme.Tussauds.What a waste of cake !
As they say follow the money.
Who gains from a situation in which we stop consumption of fossil fuels.
While the largest consumers increase their consumption of it.
No surprise those consumer are the cheap labour sweatshop economies which dominate the global free market economy and where the big western investors make their profits.
While creating an all electric captive market here, to make people like Al Gore even richer, is obviously a bonus.
Bearing in mind that nuclear, burning trees for biomass and covering fields in solar panels thereby destroying the soil root structure by depriving it of light, is anything but green.
All based on Al Gore’s lies that CO2 cooked Venus let alone getting away with extrapolating his bs theory to Earth’s atmosphere and distance from the Sun.
terrorist
/ˈtɛrərɪst/
Learn to pronounce
noun
a person who uses unlawful violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims.
If these people use violence or intimidation then they are terrorists.
If they are making life awkward, they are not terrorists.
If you think they are exaggerating the risk to the environment, that is your opinion.
Exaggerating their risk to you, calling them terrorists rather than protesters, would be equally misleading or dishonest.

Spare us your laughably biased hypocrisy. The idea that CO2 cooked Venus and that the CO2 produced by burning fossil fuel will cook Earth is also just their opinion.
It doesn’t give them the right to endanger the lives of themselves and others by climbing the QE2 bridge.
So tell us have you gone all electric yet or are you still taking advantage of cheap imported Brit gas while telling us that we mustn’t use it at home.
I could have put “eco terrorists” in quotation marks.
Intimidation ? The threat level of intimidation would vary from individual to individual.Cake thrown at a waxwork could have missed and splattered someone less robust and caused distress.Similarly the 2 people reported dying in ambulances while stuck in a queue,or their close family,no doubt felt a degree of threat at the time. It’s all relative and a short step from inconvenience to outright violence, however minor.
Leaving aside the semantics,my original post was to illustrate how wealthy organisations or individuals use their money to undermine and ultimately destroy western society."Eco terrorists"may be lower on the scale than Al quaeda but their funding is similar. As an example,BLM was hardly scratching about for loose change while trying to glorify the death of a thoroughly horrible man.
Guardian
Oil companies, petrostates and climate contrarian thinktanks, businessmen and unions have given at least £5m to MPs over the past 10 years in the form of donations, expenses-paid trips, salaries and gifts.
oz/Reuters/Alamy
The Conservative Party has accepted more than a million pounds in donations from the energy sector since the last election.
And much more money and influence is spread around other countries too.
Should opponents of oil/gas etc be limited to tin shakers stood on street corners?
Extinction Rebellion = Terrorists
BLM = Terrorists
All the same to me.
There’s a difference between peaceful protests and causing physical harm and criminal damage for the ‘greater good of humanity’.

When their ultimate aims are to destroy western society and introduce cultural marxism ? Yes.

Oh well, if we are talking about Zeppo…
Cultural Marxism
“The term “Cultural Marxism” refers to a far-right antisemitic conspiracy theory which claims that Western Marxism is the basis of continuing academic and intellectual efforts to subvert Western culture.[1][2][3] The conspiracy theory misrepresents the Frankfurt School as being responsible for modern progressive movements, identity politics, and political correctness, claiming there is an ongoing and intentional subversion of Western society via a planned culture war that undermines the Christian values of traditionalist conservatism and seeks to replace them with the culturally liberal values of the 1960s”

They obviously don’t seem to want to protest outside the Chinese embassy regarding China’s fossil fuel use and ongoing exploration and claims for more and exemption from the Paris Accord.
Before I even started reading the replies to this thread I knew straight away that a certain person whose user name starts with F would come out in defence of these idiots.
Sharks spend all day being sharks Gordon in the same way that contrarians spend all day being contrarians.

Moi?
Have I defended these protesters?
I certainly say that blocking a road is a bit different to flying a plane into a building.

My views be contrary to other`s views, but where is it written (in our country) that the right to disagree is some sort of sin?
Absolutely correct ^^^^ it’s not a sin, in fact I’d go as far as to consider it a virtue. Right up until the middle moment it becomes an obsession and one’s whole focus that is

Are you seeking help?
It is clear that you always take a contrary position to mine.

Actually you aren’t too far wide of the mark. In a moment of self reflection I did a while ago take stock of the fact that I do tend to vocalise my opposition to your opposition on many things. Therefore I decided to step back and only poke you occasionally . Perhaps you should consider the same approach with 98% of the other posters here?
Disclaimer; I do not have the available link to support my 98% theory

I try not to post, against other posters, but to post about ideas and comments.
If I agree with something I might say so, but like most here (at least 99.5% ) I post to put a different view.
Twenty posts saying the same thing isn`t going anywhere is it?
That you or others perceive that as being contrary infers that I am contrary to the (your) accepted position…Isn`t it?
You sheeple, you!
Youve said you stand for questioning of information, but don
t like it when it is YOU that is questioned!
Step back, and look again.
