Something not quite right here

Pulled up at the BP at Orsett today and assumed this bloke was waiting for the pump, after a quick double take I decided that maybe he’d be OK if I jumped the queue.

:open_mouth:

OK, I’m not getting caught out again. I can see his mirrors are intact… :smiling_imp:

I sense sarcasm.

But just in case…

His steer wheels are pointing in opposite directions.

Huh ? Lol how’s that

His wheels don’t look to good

That’s just to confuse the cyclists on his near side

To be fair, it doesn’t look like the best-maintained truck in the land.

Well spotted

One axle is saying its friday, lets head back to the yard and get an early finish. And the other one is saying lets head to the quarry and get another couple of loads in.

In fairness he’s loaded and was probably screwing the wheel round stationary and the drag link’s let go, they don’t neccesarily show any play on a six weekly but can still fail completely like this, they would be very unlikely to do so at speed or on the motorway.

Arguably a truck on that sort of work should probably be on more frequent than six having said that.

double manning and the drivers are having a bit of a tiff

Maybe they rebuilt it with the cab off a sweeper!

Spoke to martin sims the driver earlier and he said it didn’t feel right when he pulled off site, it let go just as he entered the bp station.

“Hi Boss, I’m getting a bit of wear on the inside of my tyre, I think the tracking might be out”.

A schizophrenic truck

Well this is the problem with truck driving nowdays, you don’t know if you coming or going!!

i cant see much to make me think it “doesn’t look like the best-maintained truck in the land” apart from the steering obviously

Probably because it’s dirty and not covered in shiny crap from CDC. Six weekly inspections are perfectly adequate on a tipper. They may go off road but for muckshifters they don’t normally do huge mileage.
