They have even asked a trainer to get ‘evidence’.
Interesting.
To get ‘evidence’ of what?
Unless the ‘trainer’ is also a highly qualified Transport Engineer which, if they were, they would be unlikely to be employed in just a training capacity, then they are unlikely to be in a position to determine any safety detriments in relation to the braking capabilities of a ‘tug’ in relation to an unladen or partially laden trailer whereby the braking system (of the trailer) was inoperative.
Whilst I’ve never seen any braking specs for a ‘tug’ (in comparison to a normal unit), I’d bet that they are a damned sight higher, particularly at the lower speeds for which they are designed.
Doesnt really matter what the photos are for. They have a list with certain names on and once you have upset them or agrieved them in a certain manner then they will be on your case night and day.
hitch:
if its illegal to have stores too close together
someone should tell Toscos there on every street corner
Yes they should, we’ve got one of the biggest Tesco’s in the country. It’s had two extentions since 1992 when it opened, one in 2000 and the latest finishing in 2008.
The car park is like wickey races with bends everywhere and they ended up with 5 crashes in one day .
I prefer Morrison’s, foods much nicer and there cream cakes are the best (infact gonna go and get some now).
ii was at a coop depot on sat morning and talking to a union fella. he said that talke, eccleshall osset and bradford are all closing next june and moving to lea green. and thats set in stone…

The Wincanton management are squeezing every drop out that they can. They are even taking pics of the shunters not using 2 airlines instead of just pulling them and putting them right. They have even asked a trainer to get ‘evidence’.
You want to see the blame being passed around when the [zb] hits the fan.
I went for an assessment drive for Argos last week. That’s wincanton too. As soon as he saw my licence he said, “Oh, we’ve got a speeder !”. I’ve got 3 points from over 2 years ago. From the moment we got on the road, he was on my case. Driving in lane 1 on the M5 he complained that I wasn’t using my NS mirror enough ! Then he’s on my back about saving fuel, so to plan ahead as far as possible. We come off a slip road to a roundabout and thinking ahead, I slowed down to let the traffic clear before I got there. When I went to change down a gear (from top) he stopped me, saying it wastes fuel, and that we wouldn’t need to change down anyway. And I always thought you were supposed to negotiate junctions in a control gear.
Then he wanted me to use the cruise control in 40 limits, just in case my foot bounced on the throttle and wasted fuel. And after all this he said I was a good driver and I would soon learn to drive properly, if I was open to learning ! Only marked me down on the mirrors and the “unnecessary” gear changing, neither of which I agreed with. So apparently I’m “corporate standard”.
It was a hot day anyway, but I was steaming by the time we got back to the yard. Then he tells me I have to take 2 printouts from the digitacho, and gives me more lecturing like I’m 16 years old. I very nearly told him to stick it there and then. Laugh was, the agency was on the phone at 3.15 the next morning wanting me to go in to Argos. Since I had been on nights for the last few days, I hadn’t even been to bed yet, so I turned it down. Later I found out that Argos had been screaming for drivers then canceled them all at the last minute.
I don’t think I’ll be accepting any offers for work in there. Sometimes you just get a feeling about a place.

on the motorway i would have looked in the mirror and gone " oh no " pulled over told the examiner that something was hanging of the trailer and sent him to have a look then locked the door and set of back without him.

I like your thinking
Wish I’d done it now … especially when he said he was the shop steward for the works. Imagine him phoning up for a lift back
Its been confirmed that 75 redundancies are going at somerfield bridgwater and a further 15 at huntingdon/cardinal depot. So not good news for anyone working on the somerfield contract
