Somebody give me strength !

Just having a little moan. This mornings antics from idiots included a guy who was behind me on the m6 in his punto who when I pulled out with the guy I’m following from behind a slow moving truck decided to come up the inside and force his way between my bumper, the guy on my front door and the guy which I was virtually on top of overtaking. They are getting worse. Then on the toll road I am passing an on slip with cars overtaking me and 3 cars wanting to join the motorway. Cue the indecisive idiot who decides to sit next to the truck dilly dallying over whether to accelerate which would have been the thing to do with the space on the slip road or slow down and get behind me. Nothing though. Next minute on go the brakes along with frantic flashing of the headlights. Do these people really know how to drive at all ? If I could have moved over then I would have but because I can’t you have to give way to me you ignoranis.

Are you going to be alright?? And it’s only Monday

just wait till friday when everyones going home for xmas

I think some of these idiots think that HGVs have to give way to them. The slip road thing does my head in. Maybe I’m wrong, and I’m sure I’ll be told so :unamused: , but I only move over for cars that cannot pull out safely in front of me. The dashed lines clearly indicate that to cross them, you have to GIVE WAY to vehicles already on that road. Car drivers usually have plenty of opertunity to accelerate and get out in front of me but seem to think I should move over so they can feel safe. It’s OK for them to leave me standing in the middle lane while they shoot off up the inside lane after I have moved over for them, which they could have done easily by accelerating on the slip road and getting out in front of me. :imp: :imp:

A lot of folks that only drive to the shops and back all year, will be venturing onto the major roads this week.
Pay to be sharp.

Fixed that for you.

That’s the problem with drivers today, they do not know what these are.
Joining a motorway/dual carriageway. = acceleration lane

Leaving one = deceleration lane.

Wise words :sunglasses:

Must be something in the water today because all day I have witnessed the worst driving (cars and trucks) I can actually remember seeing.

Tailgating (and I mean less than metre), cars diving into none existent gaps, which I know always happens but seemed to almost be every junction, people overtaking at the stupidest points, just the whole shebang.

It’s just been a mental day.

I’ve seen 2 cars in trees today

After the office party

Apparently it is the worst day for accidents in the whole year!
Me…I am just happy with my NIP, my parking ticket and the lights fusing in the hall and the dog eating the bottom layer of fairy lights on the christmas tree…But who cares, the world ends on Friday  :sunglasses:

I’ve given up compensating for idiots you know the ones coming up the slip road in normal cars at 35/40mph, they cause bloody havoc, similarly and opposite if someone lets ME go i do not make them regret that kindness by ■■■■■■■ them about.

Someone who’s aware, doing their best and on the ball i will bend over backwards to help, invariably they get a move on don’t hold you up even a fraction of a second and with a quick wave or light flash acknowledgement are gone.

The rest of the half asleep incompetent useless brain donors can do the other thing.

I’d report that to David Attenborough mate

there have been two major accidents on the a30 down here today within 2 miles of each other, and when i was driving home this evening there was a (very bent …rolled i think) vw tranporter and a load of skidmarks on the verge…

usually get one major accident a month on that road. 2 in a day is unheard of. maybe the world is coming to an end…

I know the feeling well, in west london this morning shortly before 7 i was confronted by a very angry chap who kept asking me if i was out of my mind and telling me what time it was and that it was a residential steet i couldnt hear him that well for the donkey engine on the crane i said i must be to get up at 230am but after telling me he got my number and wishing me a merry ■■■■■■ christmas i wished him a happy new year . you can only laugh.

a64…one east bound and one west bound.

the west bound one looked pretty bad…road closed, accident investigation unit etc

i do wonder if this problem is in some way our fault?? as well as the numpties not knowing the rules??, for years we as lorry drivers have been flashing in/out cars vans lorrys etc to the point that they all expect it to happen and get uppset when it does’nt,
just a thought

Something to consider here though,is this.
We all expect other road users to move over to allow us to join the motorway/dc,with good reason, but in the view of the average car driver sit in the inside lane like a Gareth hunt, and in their view trap them in.
I do the same,I agree that they should either crack on or ease off and come out behind, but you have to make allowances.
Or all we shall achieve is to alienate lots of “motorists” and all we shall achieve is to make our job even more stressful.
Just saying!
