Well, I’m 22 and I passed my CPC about 4 weeks ago. I’ve done 4 different agency assignments since then and every single one of them has been utter B******
Driving was fun they said, just hop in the cab and get paid to listen to the radio they said.
They forgot to mention hours of unloading, useless transport managers and all the other B****** that comes with it
Mutli-dropping is just intolerable at times. The only good thing about any of it is the other drivers who have been a godsend in making sure I only partially mess up all my delivery, as opposed to **** them up 100%
its getting better all the time (for me at least). I started driving class 1 a year ago, started at a ■■■■ turf firm then agency for a while then a typical tinpot cowboy operation in general haulage then agency again for a while then finally got taken on by a half decent small haulage firm a couple of months ago, had succesful interview and driving assessment at dhl tradeteam last week so should be starting there soon
Everytime you see a better job just apply for it
Good luck.
Eventually you will get the “job”.We all went through it and it simply makes you a more cynical, bitter and twisted person.Perfect for truck driving. The time i have spent abroad,i would have earned more stacking shelves in Tesco, pro rata. You won’t be in it for the money or the glory.(except for Sun Valley)
Then you see the light and move to France.(or go to Canada,i did)
