Sorry they are a bit late in posting but I have been busy at work and only just got them loaded up.
Scania 110 - 1st truck I drove after passing my test was a 111.
Volvo F86 - did quite a few miles in one of these pulling fridges - underpowered but did the job.
Volvo F88 - only drove an left hook 89 once and wished I could have driven one more - a classic.
Volvo F7 - after the 86 then moved onto one of these and used it a lot pulling fridges and tatie bulkers on an evening. Loved it but it was a little underpower and the brakes were upto to a lot sometimes.
Nice pics Biker! I agree the 86 was underpowered I had one on bulk tipper work, you can guess the weights, and imagine the forward progress! LOL! Oh, what was worse though was a Scania 81 unit, again, pulling a bulker on scrap! God, for a marathon with an E290!
The F7 pictured was sold at the C&VC Enthusiasts Day at Donnington in March. Whitfields have an F7 quietly fading away in their yard, as do Bowkers.
It’s a shame there aren’t more of them getting restored, but the cost and availability of cabs (which are the main things that need doing) is getting worse as time goes by.
I’ve seen the 110 somewhere else as well (no in that livery though.
I know around my area of one yard with an left hook one owner from new F89 parked up along with a Crusader and several 111’s and 141’. Owner wont part with any of them.
Also on the Boroughbrige to Ripon road there is parked in someones garden as they have been for the last 20 years an F10/12 and a DAF 2600 (I think it is) the square cab one before the 2800 cab. The guy just does not want to part with them.
