My dad has just rang and has told me its in this months truck and driver saying that the software used to do field tests on the eyes from 2010 to 2015 was faulty and drivers had their licences wrongly revoked.
I did a Google serch and read the piece written by the Gaurdian webpage and it states that software used to do the tests between 2010-2015 was indeed faulty as in the light spots you are supposed to detect were less bright than what they should be and guess what… The delightful folk at the DVLA are refusing to pay compensation to drivers they wrongly revoked licences off as in their words it was the software that was at fault and not them
They have informed just over 600 drivers who the revoked licences off wrongly but I wonder how many more they are not telling about? ■■■■■■■ stinks another goverment office that’s not fit for purpose.
If the yanks have taught us anything, its that the blame lies with **someone** I foresee a spate of private lawsuits comin
- id certainly be on a mission if i
d been prevented from earning a living because some ■■■■■■■ had cocked up his noughts and ones.

Did not realise DVLA did eye tests or had the facilities to do them, always thought you went to your Doctor first and if there was a problem found He/ She referred you to a Specialist at a Hospital or an Opticians, and licences where revoked on their findings and recommendation to the DVLA

The DVLA request you to go to one of their registered sites to do the eye test which could be a local hospital or now Specsavers opticians. Also due to the fact that the DVLA pay for this test you don’t see the results they just send them off to the DVLA then a few week later you get the letter either saying you are fit to drive or you’re not.
