A very lucky driver indeed. Went past a few hours later,
he missed the armco by just a few feet.
Heard a nearside front blowout.
No he didn’t! he took a great deal of it down with him, along with an SOS box. He was so far down into a culvert it was impossible to see the truck from the H/S. To be honest, I expected the recovery of this to last until tomorrow, as a lot of trees needed cutting down before recovery could even be started, the culvert also needed damming whilst recovery carried out. All that I can say is Hough Green recovery must have worked bloody hard to get that out so quick.
was trying to avoid idiots looking when i passed.
Had thought they might try to take him out via the industrial estate next to m6.
Been a few incidents along that stretch in last few years.

It was considered, but the thickness of the tarmac in the car park was unknown, also the layout of any underground pipework, as there’s a lot of weight goes through the support legs of the recovery cranes when lifting something like this out, that why it was decided to tackle it from the h/S
Looks like the cab crumpled just like it’s designed to. Can’t fault the safety aspect of the cab structure- it probably had an effect on the driver being able to walk away.
From what I’ve seen, Hough Green Recovery are one of the best in the business. They’ve got some seriously good kit and the operators are very professional.
