dieseldog999:
they cyclist is just a wazzok looking for some youtube fame and glory and deserves his hopefully inevitable mortuary slab wearing his bike.
jakethesnake:
I aināt missing no point Nite Owl. The point is it does not matter how much of a plank any cyclist is nobody has the right to drive aggressively towards them.
Just because the cyclist is a complete moron who disregards his own safety WE as professional drivers have duty to keep him as safe as humanley possible as do all drivers.
Now, I have had enough on this matter and most others. TaTa.
No, you are missing the point, there are two types of clips in that video. One where the lorries are driving like pricks and getting too close. As a cyclist myself I understand that. The one that got me was the tanker(?) who passed him then anchored up to turn right. A personal pet hate of mine.
The other type of clip are the ones where the cyclist is being irresponsible and putting themselves in danger. If you have the mindset that everyone else is going to look after you on the roads, it wont be long before youāre disapointed.
Bad driving or bad cycling, whatever, Iāll say what I see. You can carry on your one man crusade against lorry drivers as long as you want, but Iāll be paying you no more attention.
jakethesnake: They really do bring it upon themselves.
Bring what upon themselves? Nearly getting wiped out by an articulated truck with an agressive driver? The cyclist is a complete moron however there is no need for any driver to do what some of these trucks were doing. END OF Anyone who thinks otherwise should not be on the road.
In this case yes.
Just because you can do something, doesnāt mean you should and in this case, strapping a bunch of cameras to yourself and go out looking for trouble. You are probably going to find it.
Just like the hapless 3 in Mr.Dogs clip. Yes, lawfully he may have been āin the rightā but itās not like itās going make his foot grow back.
Its like going into a pub wearing the opposing teamās shirt on game day or posting on an internet forum for lorry drivers telling them all how unprofessional they are.
That kind of contrarian muppetry.
No cyclist deserves that kind of dangerous behaviour. You seem to be another who either canāt read or canāt understand plain English.
I have NEVER said all lorry drivers were unprofessional. I will always stick up for the good ones but they seem to be in decline these days. I am not the only one with this view on this forum BTW.
Try being a little less biased and you might understand the realty of the situation.
No bias whatsoever.
I did mention earlier that I am a commuting cyclist myself, and when its raining I am in a big shining SUV.
I have also been known to navigate 40 tonnes around the highways byways to put a roof over my head.
I clearly UNDERSTAND.
For the most part, this type of road commander, only show edited clips of their endeavours to try and force a narrative. Everyone is stupid except themselves.
They never show the events leading up to and after the brief sensational 4 seconds of near death experience because when they do, as in the case of the 3 Vs the powder tanker in the link above, they show up in the light of what the WTF were you thinking and any grain of sympathy gained by being ārightā evaporated.
So in essence, your idea of too close will differ from everyone else and the general rule of thumb is āa miss is as good as a country mileā
In recent days, Mr. Harry Monk, a well respected member of this community proposed a series of cognitive arguments directly to the subject of the original poster on the ārighttobikeitā YOUTUBE channel.
I would like to report the synopsis of these exchanges but I dont wish to exhibit any form of bias, aye Jake.
I have always found Mr. Monk to be a patient and knowledgable individual with a calm and considered approach to life.
