So who's asleep now? (Photo's included)

This was our ■■■■■■ vehicle. At the time of the accident, he was escorting a 120t load. This van is fitted with two light bars, eye-level strobe lights and hi-visibility markings.

The van was in lane one of the A30 dual carriageway, fortunately behind the abnormal load.

He was almost stationery, after just emerging from a lay-by, all other traffic had pulled into lane 2, when a 55 plated Mercedes saloon car, pulled back in from lane 2 and straight into our van!

Witnesses, stated that the Mercedes driver made no attempt to brake, no brake lights were seen and the estimated speed 85mph. :open_mouth:

Fortunately, no one was seriously hurt, although our driver, resembled The Elephant Man the next day, after being spun around like a rag doll, in a washing machine. I forgot to take pictures of damage to the front of our van.

Perhaps the BBC, should look into CAR DRIVERS and their standard of driving?

Car drivers :unamused: One would think that ■■■■■■ vehicle is visible enough to prevent this kind of accidents.

Here in Finland was quite similar accident couple months ago where two (2!) buses drove on the back of ■■■■■■ van which was in front of abnormal load :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :unamused:

I don’t remember exactly how it happened but truck was going walking speed becouse of low bridge and ■■■■■■ van in front of it was watching that load doesn’t hit to bridge. Then a city bus managed somehow to drive to back of the van without braking and second bus followed. Both buses were doing something around 70km/h. Driver of first bus said that he didn’t see the van (passengers had shout to driver that there’s stationary vehicle ahead but that hadn’t helped…). There was writing about this in local truckers magazine about month ago and they said that driver of ■■■■■■ van was lucky and didn’t get any permanent injuries. I think he should be able to walk without crutches by now.

Dont be so silly, thats not an ■■■■■■!!!

It’s a Transit

PS. you only have to look at one a bit hard and it’s a write off.

Maybe the recovery driver went under a low bridge on the way back.

Still he only had a little ■■■■■■ on the back

Pity there wasn’t a high vis vest hanging from the back doors :unamused:  :unamused:

Yeah because then the car would have just bounced off with out damage!
