Around three monts ago bought an FH12 LHD 480 and have been working for a Spanish Haulier doing Groupage from the Costa De Sol area and Madrid to the UK. 11 trips so far.

be careful with some of the “groupage” from around here you never know what might be inside

furthest for me was copenhagen to the north and east was probably udine if its further east than munich will have to consult the map?
as far as south goes i can’t get much further without jumping on the ferry to morocco would like to have done the trip to the canaries though

Believe me, i am careful :wink: Trailers are already loaded but in a secure yard so its relatively safe.
Works out quite well if im in Malaga overnight as i have an apartment in Nerja,quick blast down the N340 in the car and its home for the night. Convenient for the truck as well in Nerja parked up at Super Sol.
Whereabouts are you in Malaga?

To be perfectly honest, I imagine than anybody who has done groupage from Spain on a regular basis has unwittingly carried contraband at some point. But what can you do? You can’t look inside every box, crate, barrel and parcel.

furthest i went this year was south.to…Castle San Pietro nr Imola :cry: or east to Birlin :laughing: north was Warwick
but went to perth WA on holiday if that counts i managed to drive a truck whist there but only a pick up (landrover)

I don’t think it is outside interference you need to worry about, it is what comes into Groupage warehouses that contains drugs that would worry me. :open_mouth:

Our company has sent truck home empty rather than load groupage in the past, after one of our driver got caught in France with drugs loaded at Spain TIR in Alicante without his knowledge

the reason i said be careful was because recently on here was a story of a uk trucker loading marbella for uk and being stopped in france with drugs on but luckily the irish brothers who loaded it have since been caught.
also i used to work for wolf :cry: who had a driver locked up in france because he loaded furniture with hollowed out legs stuffed with drugs which the boss didn’t know about because if he did he wouldn’t have sent him on the train to get scanned :open_mouth:

The co. i do work for isnt a groupage warehouse as such and for this very purpose i always have a copy of the complete load mandate signed uninspected by myself (i check it anyway, as far as possible) but signed checked by the agent and theyve always done this for me. Not a get out of jail card i know but gives me some protection. Theyre a reputable co. and my brother in law dealt with them when working fr R&M internatioal a number of years ago. As we all know, its impossibe to check every box/container/pallet load more so mixed goods but i do all i can to keep safe but obviously theres risk in whatever we do…

The scariest load I brought out of Spain was 25 tonnes of Cillit Bang. It was loaded by a Spanish subbie and dropped in Irun on the roadside overnight. All I knew was that the trailer contained some white powder :stuck_out_tongue:

i think the furthest points i did last year were moscow zagreb barcelona and helsinki, wasnt a great year to be honest, hoping this year will be better (got moscows and istanbuls on the cards already) and hoping someone will go somewhere stupid i cant pronounce!
