Boat, a hole in the water in which to throw money.
D’ya know that when this lockdown is finally over, we’ll realize what being 44m individuals with little common interests - actually makes continuing with lockdown conditions permanently - more palatable?
Good thread.
Mine include lifting weights (although I’ve got a bit porky over lockdown) and I’m a big lover of music - used to be a half decent bassist years ago and have also dabbled in programming electronic music.
Latest project is doing up a pickup I’ve just bought - it’s in fairly decent condition but needs some paint correction and rims refurbed/calipers painted etc. I keep telling myself it absolutely doesn’t need a hybrid turbo fitted to compliment the sports chassis.

Paint correction on a pick up truck , my suspicions were correct , nothing more than a vanity project
Mine of late is walking the lady up the roads dog , I have to get plenty of exercise for health reasons & with her hubby leaving her & she’s at work & im not at the moment I offerd to help out with the dog ( walking it ) , it took some getting used to as he’s a very large Alsatian & we went we’re he wanted to go , I tried to to get him to my way of thinking but he made it clear he was having none of it ,so a few flashes of his nashers made me realise I’d have to go with the flow ( where he wants to go ) .
But I do enjoy it & we’ve become good mates

Is that a euphemism for something?
Ah punctuation. I helped my Uncle ■■■■■■■■ a horse as opposed to I helped my Uncle Jack, off a horse.
How do you make those? Do you carve them from scratch, or mould them somehow, or are they ready made and you paint them? Do you sell them?

These are outstanding. Do you use any rulers or such, or are they completely freehand?

These are commercial available models, the figures mainly cast in resin. They usually come in several parts, with some seperate detail parts. I paint them, using both an airbrush and brushes. I have started trying my hand at sculpting, but I’m cutting my teeth on simple conversions for now… . I sometimes sell them, or do pieces on commission.
Some more of my, and many other much more talented artists, can be found here https://www.puttyandpaint.com/Henk

I cycle, and try not to get in the way of truckers.

Thank you. I’m not good enough to get the same effect freehand. I use rulers to draw the outlines, then shade them over about 4 stages/layers using several techniques. There’s a good 18-25 hours work per drawing (the first ones were 40-50 hours, but I got quicker). I do them on my 4 off. Apart from about 6 drawings spanning from 20 years, I’ve only taken it seriously since the November lockdown, and have completed 7 since then, 6 of which have been in the last 3 months. I’m still developing my technique. But I’m noticing I’m getting slightly better when I use freehand in a variety of ways, and it’s quicker too.
Here’s another I did in April. Although the photograph isn’t quite as sharp as my previous postings.
And the only other one I’ve got that I haven’t posted.
I like your figures. They’re impressive and I very much appreciate their intricacy and detail. In your link, are the military ones yours?

Thank you. Yes, they are.
What I admire about your work, is your ability to create a 3D image, on a 2D surface, and how you create the light. Creating light and depth in a 2D image is much more difficult than most people realise.
