I once passed a copper on a push bike. He was going so slowly up this hill on his posh £2000 bike yet I still managed to fly past him.
(I didn’t have a car at the time so yes I rode a bicycle)

What does a £2000 bike do exactly that an ordinary one won’t?

Just like abnormal load escorts. Just because the ■■■■■■ vehicles have flashing lights, it’s not illegal to overtake them. I saw several cars on the A34 earlier following a large dumptruck on a low loader, drivers too scared to overtake it.
