So How Come I Got A Working Time Infringement?

Endgame:
Can someone explain to me just how EXACTLY the WTD works?

RT(WT)R (or RTD) for mobile workers is not the same as the normal WTD

RTD is for working time not shift time

Working time is driving and other work added together - it does not include POA or breaks

RTD is designed to stop a driver doing more than 6 hours of work without taking a break of at least 15 mins

RTD also has rules which state a certain amount of total break(s) must be taken depending on how much work was done

In most cases breaks taken can count for both tacho driving regs and RTD regs but the rules on driving time breaks must still be obeyed

RTD states a driver must not go over 6 hours of work without taking at least a 15 min break

RTD states that if the total work done was over 6 hours but not more than 9 hours then a total of 30 mins of break(s) must be taken
If the total work done goes over 9 hours then the 6 to 9 rule above can be ignored and a new rule stating that a total of 45 mins of break(s) must be taken

Most drivers cover the RTD by taking their usual driving time breaks but that is not always the case

Newbies need a test on all the regs but there is not one at present but there could be if the authorities change initial dcpc module 2 into such a test instead of the debacle it is now

The only thing I can think of, but it would be a bit bizarre, is if they think you need a 45 minute break to be taken after 9 hours working time, but I doubt if that’s what it is.

Surely a 45 would need to have been taken if one minute over 9hour

If your working time is over 9 hours you need a break/breaks totalling 45 minutes, but none of that 45 minute break needs to be after the 9 hours.
