How much do you have to pay for a dashcam there anyway ? We can buy them in truckstops here for $99.00 + tax/ I tried using a dashcam app (free) but got fed up with it every time the phone rang

With idiots that are out there these days i’ve just treated myself to a full 1080p HD dash cam and im very impressed with the quality of it. For 110 quid I think it will prove to be money well spent.BigBear.
HOW MUCH?!?!
I just checked the website. £270 or thereabouts!!
Mine cost £14.99 from eBay and works perfectly

So, let me get this right, the police are charging someone on just hearsay for dangerous driving?
Its not hearsay, the OP’s account was his first hand knowledge of the incident. It would be hearsay if he was basing his account upon what someone else saw.
If it had been hearsay, it would only be admissible in very extreme circumstances, such us recounting what someone in hopeless expectation of death had said just before they died.
My dash cam off eBay was less than £20. And I must say it works a treat and was a bargain, I drive a variety of our company vehicles and its with me everyday, touch wood I’ve not needed it.
Must check out EBAY then

…and what does that make the story to the police? I’ll give you a clue; it starts with ‘hear’ and ends with ‘say’.
This is all irrelevant anyway because the person in this made up story supposedly 'fessed up at the first opportunity.

Which part of “It would be hearsay if he was basing his account upon what someone else saw” are you struggling with?
The OP’s account was based upon his own observations, not what someone else told him so it is not hearsay.

It is to the police; they didn’t see it. Which part of that are you struggling with?

driving along the other day heading in to bournemouth in my car i was doing 70mph down the a338 coming up to the blackwater junction i moved over to the outside lane and this prat in a mini joined the a338 then he just pulled in front of me making me hit my brakes other wise i would have rear ended him
so i flashed him to call him a [zb] he then brake tested me 3 times then when i moved into lane 1 he started swerving in front of me making me brae hard again so i followed him as my kids were screaming and my daughter who is 7 had a big red mark where the seat belt caught her on the neck (by this time i wanted to batter him )he ended up going to the police station to report me but when he got there he tryed to drive away but as i was making so much noise 3 coppers come over to find out what was going on he denied everything untill he got shown my dashcam (it was off ) he then fessed up to the police and when i left they were doing him for driving without due care and attention

Slow the [zb] down and let him get away, you don’t have to rise up to these people. you had your kids in the car ffs.

I can tell you that a lad I know got 1 of those road asbo things after some woman in a Micra reported him to be driving like a loon.
Police pulled him, had a chat and issued the asbo based on her testament.
What makes the story funny is he was driving a fully liveried (for a famous caravan place) Peugeot Boxer van with a twin axle 20 odd grand caravan on the back that he was delivering - there is NO WAY he was driving like a loon for a number of reasons, 1 he couldn’t afford to replace the caravan, 2 caravan sales places don’t sell many caravans if their vehicles are seen ragging it around with a delivery van on the back, 3 he wanted to keep the job and he’s still there years later.
BUT, he still got the asbo based on the report of some biddy.

The police only gather the evidence and present it to the CPS who then present it to the court. Neither the police or the CPS are attesting to the accuracy of that evidence and if it were to go to trial the OP as the witness who gave that evidence to the Police would have to go to court and give his evidence.
So like I said, it is NOT hearsay, if the OP only gave his account verbally it is still oral evidence, not hearsay as you continue to believe.
I really don’t car if you believe me, so long as the wider audience realise your talking ■■■■■■
