Snow chains

Does anyone know if my dad will need snowchains to travel in Samoens, France, which is near Mont Blanc area?
Can you hire chains or where to buy?
Cheers.

The carrying of them and their use is not compulsory in France but they are compulsory on roads indicated by the sign ‘Equipements Speciaux Obligatoires’. Fine of €135 for non compliance, increases to €375 if not paid within 30 days. So if he hasn’t got them and the signs go up then he must park up.

Now all you gotta do is wait for the post about using snow curtains instead of snow chains which may well follow. :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue:

If you do need them then park up anyway!!¬!

Suprised Brit pete hasnt been on the case yet, snowchains seem to be his speciallity !!

So can you hire them?
