Hi all,
I’m new to the snooper world, in fact I have recently started using the S8000 Truckmate version. I have to say I’m very impressed with it up to now, and I have never really been into sat nav’s, always using a map first and the sat nav for traffic and ETA’s etc.
I have a question though, what do you folks have set for your route with regards to shortest distance or fastest time etc.?
It’s more curiosity than anything else really.
Could someone explain snooper sat nav please…

I have it set for fastest. But always check the pictorial route and use the “via” function or “target” function if I think it will be quicker or easier than what it has given me. But if you are going into London make sure you check “avoid tollway” so you miss the congestion charge otherwise it will try and take you straight through as it has no appreciation for how long that actually takes!

fastest as i find it usually keeps you on main roads rather than cross contry

That obviously goes somewhat over your head so I’ll explain; you can set it for shortest journey which means it’ll choose a route of shortest distance between two points. Or alternatively you can set it for fastest, which surprisingly is the fastest route between two points.
I realise you were aiming for caustic, cutting and sarcastic but keep practising and you’ll get there someday. Maybe set your humour controls to “shortest”.
