I’ve had both tom tom and snooper when in europe never had problems with either round london but did find the tom tom to have better lane guidence then the snooper and 7" screen does take some getting used to but do prefer the tom tom

Not had any trouble with mine in London

Really?? So yours don’t go bonkers when you go down a night time banned road for trucks in the middle of the day cos mine does, drives me nuts so I turn it off.

No Taff, you need to ring them up and get the software updated free as I’ve kicked off royal to them! That’s all it is pal ! :grimacing: :grimacing:

Snooper have a new one coming soon same as S7000 but with DAB Radio too, but a £500 price tag

Even better on than that! £800 all of Europe! :open_mouth:  :sunglasses: :unamused: :grimacing:

I bought a Navman (was skint and had just been made redundant) came with a months free truck mode, got me out of a lot of holes. Think I paid £109 for the unit, (all Europe) and paid an extra 70 for lifetime truck mode.

I’ve used TomTom’s in cars, and their postcode search is far superior, but for a value satnav, I’m pretty happy with it

Wow that’s expensive I just got a rand mcnally for usa n canada cost me $269 even comes with same picture on the sales sign as the snooper

hahaha nope I never use maps either sat nav for me.

I use a mixture of bridge map, google maps, street view, really old TomTom (car one) and a bit of common sense

I bought my wife a navman with full euro mapping and traffic updates for £70 in a sale in halfords.

iv got tomtom truck nav and seen me every where even through london  but still like to double check the routes

wouldn’t be without mine, fantastic in europe and the uk, update it every month and i think it was well worth the price i paid for it

I’ve only got the S2000 but think its great, only let me down one in Selby town centre when it didn’t know there was a low bridge

i bought a imigo one of flea bay for 80 and i find it very good but it does the same as ye say in london it cant distingush the when to allow you around certain streets in london due to the night time ban
i even tried changing the time on it but still no good.
its an annoyance as most of my driving is around london so i think its time to get a tom tom one.
do tom tom give any problems in london with the night time ban

Think il have a look into it;london isnt a problem as i go no were near the place

what about day ?

Sometimes refuse to locate sats, very frustrating! Can take half a day to locate them!! Updated software and not really helped. Support is rubbish but there always seems to be a map update available for around £60 a pop! Good when it works properly but does try and take you into residential areas quite a lot (!!!) and dosen’t seem to choose truck friendly routes over any other even though using motorway junctions would be so obvious if it looked at a map!! Would drop you straight on the place you wanted be! As usual the human brain, mk1 eyeball, bridge map book and a good dose of common sense is all that is required. If I knew before I got one then I would have saved my money.

I’ve got the Garmin Dezl 560 and I’ve tried the Tom Tom and Snooper that a couple of the other lads at work have.
As far as I can tell, there’s little or no difference in the mapping between the three of them. Haven’t tried the Snooper or Tom Tom outside UK but had no problems with the Garmin across the water as yet.
Personally found the 7" screen on the Snooper too big, the 5" on the Garmin and Tom Tom much less obstructive.
If you want the TV function and big screen then the Snooper’s worth a go, if not buy the Garmin or Tom Tom as they do just as good a job for less money.
Shop around before buying too, the RRP on my Garmin is £340 but I picked up a 3 month old ex-display model for £200.

I’ve always used tomtom’s, tried a Snooper 7000 when they first came out, but it’s routing was crap, ran tomtom next to it on a few routes me and the other driver knew, and we agreed the Tomtom routing was better.
Now running latest map on Tomtom though and going back to an older map, the routing has gone to ■■■■, no idea why, takes me some right daft places, so back to 870 map for me.
