Snooper lynx speed trap detector

Has anyone ever used one of these snooper speed trap detectors? Never seen anybody using them to be honest but this one seems to pick up mobile speed cameras aswell as fixed, how does it work with mobile ones is it just data already input from common locations used by mobile speed cameras or is there some sort of signal that can detect a mobile speed camera??

Hi kev - you`ve probably read, like me, that the blurb implies that mobile traps are reported/inputted by registered users as they are spotted, then instantly sent to all units and kept live for 6hrs. So essentially database driven.

I suspect that any technology employed which would detect and warn of a mobile camera up ahead would be swiftly deemed illegal, as it would give us all a level playing field, and rob THEM of easy income.

Given most speed guns are now lasers and have a very narrow beam, unless the laser is pointing directly at the detector (very doubtful) I can’t see how it will detect it. The laser is usually aimed at the number plate as it gives an excellent reflection.

Given a laser can ping a car over 500 metres away (so for a larger target such as a truck, the range increases), chances are the copper has clocked your speed anyway by the time your detector has warned you and you’ve dropped your speed sufficiently.
Stick to the speed limits and save yourself however much you were going to pay for a speed detector.
