Just to clarify our parking rates are from £15 and that is for parking only. The old signs are being removed advertising 2 free pts.

Did you get a bollocking from the Snap man then for overcharging…?
All that has been achieved by the moaners on this thread is that snap users will no longer be getting any perks whatsoever.
Well done drivers.
You are your own worse enemy.
I didnt see it as an overcharge but have been informed that SNAP is for parking only and the driver must not benefit from anything included so have reduced the parking fee for Snap but still offer the driver a meal and a drink for £5 Which I think is pretty reasonable

I was under the impression that the night out / subsistence money paid by the employer to the driver pays for the shower/food while they`re away from home
It should be enough to reimburse the driver. And Jay, the wife and kids still have to eat at home, if you were there it wouldn’t cost any more.
HMRC have this to say about overnight subsistence.
Where the employer knows that the driver uses the sleeper cab, the amount paid free of tax should not exceed a reasonable reimbursement of:
evening meal and breakfast
washing facilities
upkeep of bedding in the cab.

Our company looks like it will shortly be adopting the SNAP account system. On the face of it, it looks a great idea not having to worry about paying for parking. However, I believe it to be a scourge on the job and a further erosion on our employment conditions. From what I can make out, if you “pay” with SNAP the vast majority of sites will not give you a shower, let alone a meal or meal voucher. We are expected to live in a lorry all week and in the vast majority of cases do not have any cooking or food storage facilities provided by the firm and now we are expected to pay massively inflated prices for food or buy our own cooking equipment.
I realise some of you will say just cook in the cab, buy yourself a fridge and stop moaning, but this situation is getting out of hand. If I’m on a 9 hour stop following a 15 hour turn, the last thing I want to be doing is breaking out a gas stove and cooking a meal, then tidying it up after. There is a basic human welfare need here that is simply not being met by our employers.
Your on for Turners are you not? If so I am too, we’ve had SNAP in since about August, I’ve used it twice, once at Swindon, after using the SNAP the lady asked if I’d like to buy a shower token for £3? I refused, I then went and ate at Sainsburys cafe. They charged my firm like £12 to park, no shower included, I’d have been better off in BnQ layby for free.
Some lads have paid at the SNAP sites to get shower/food vouchers and nothing was said, parking fee was refunded.
How the hell can Swindon justify charging 3 quid for a shower. I would charge them to wash my pigs in that place. The place should be condemned and it wouldn’t do the kitchen staff any harm to have a wash occasionally.

" well I fed the fish some doughnuts and piped up " how much have the been charging you? " posh man from Yorkshire!
" ■■■■■■■ £3 for fifteen years ! "
he then says " twenty new drivers in the morning! "
just before disembarkation from the duty free shop! " I wish you well " as I started my engine up!
Well done SNAP.Best thing for years.
Walk in give reg. number, job done.
No parting with any of my cash to park someone else’s vehicles.
Take no notice of the doom and gloom merchants on here.
Wish every truck park in the country was on SNAP.This

The funny thing is that even before snap, most drivers didn’t need to use their own money, they could have paid on credit card and accumulated air miles, got it back week following, thus in their bank account accruing interest, then pay cc up to 8 weeks later with no interest charges for paying on time.
Some people never learn
now they don’t pay and don’t get anything
Own worse enemies, well done drivers

I’m not trying to be personal, but do you really expect your boss to buy you dinner every night? If you went home every night you would have to fend for yourself. As for showers, the only one I know that charges extra is the Orwell crossing. Most have unlocked showers, ie the stockyard and Newark. Don’t know much else as I’m a creature of habit and I stay in the same places. Junction 29 charge everybody for a shower. Ignore the truckstops and stay on an msa, get your meal voucher and a shower then
All I require is a clean shower and good grub. That’s all I want. I cannot see any harm in paying the extra £1 for a £10 voucher

The Fox - A1 ColsterworthSNAP Account - £15inc VAT PARKING ONLY - Driver pays a £5 cash for a meal and a drink.
Yet a few miles away, you have Colsterworth Truck Stop which is £13.55 inc VAT on SNAPRIP OFF, I know a couple of companies that have banned drivers from using it. (I’m naming no-one)
Nearly double the price? Thats why you call me Terry Tibbs
Love to know where you got that price from

The easiest way to answer would have been to just say ‘yes we did’
