SNAP Account - A Scourge

Either way the amount paid by the company should be the same or within a few percent rather than more than double the price.

Doesn’t work that way with MSA meal vouchers though does it? Someone parking can have a voucher for 50% off a meal where as someone just eating has to pay full price? Same principal.

It does

EXTRA do not give you anything apart from a pay and display ticket for parking regardless of the payment method used.

I think extra are the only MSA that takes snap

Bizzarley, “EXTRA” have less services than any other services  “EXTRA” services are also almost exclusivley off Motorway and do not adhere to the same standards as a MSA.

Hi, quite a lot to clear up here!

Firstly, yes we do have to make money somehow. The way that we do that is by taking a small percentage of the parking fee on SNAP transactions. We do not add anything to parking charges.

We are very interested in finding out where this figure of £26 for SNAP account is coming from at the Fox. There is a price of 26 euros there which could be causing a mix up.

Our price there is £15 plus VAT as can be found by looking at the prices at this link. snapaccount.co.uk/sites.php#finder
The Fox is further down the list with the t’s.

We have just spoken with the Fox and it seems there is some strange information around. These are the facts straight from them regarding pricing. The management there would like to state that the costs there are £15 for parking only and £20 including food. SNAP have no control over the prices set by any of our sites, they tell us what the prices are. I hope this information clears up some of the confusion.

Also, i’m surprised it took this long for a ‘What does the Fox say’ joke!
Nice

THere appears to be a bit of shady goings on now @ SNAP, the prices have been amended pretty sharpish. Miraculous that now they have been “Rumbled” the price has fell to £15 to park in a muddy ■■■■ hole at the side of the A1

Sorry SNAP but any credibility that you had has just vanished.

You come on here and say “We investigate allegations of …”

You get an allegation, then you RING THEM UP and update your website?

Not sure if that post from the fox still says “Extras” are included, but I kept a PDF copy anyway.

Also @SNAP, £12 is the parking rate for CASH

If you say that the parking charge should be the same regardless of payment method, and that you take the fee from the site, why is it still £15, or £20+ as it was a while ago

Anyway, I will await your response but that will be the end of it. This is a rant about SNAP, not a specific site - There are plenty of them threads about. You have made your position very clear.

Is it me or do some of the posts on this thread smell of manure @Snap

I guess that refers to my post

Maybe I did not make my point very clearly - SNAP comes on here saying “If you get a meal included with a parking ticket, you are breaking the law and the scary Mr Taxman will lynch you and your company” as an excuse for sites charging a fortune and not giving anything in return.

Then I point out a site that does give free “Extras ” in the parking charge which according to SNAP is illegal

Then the website gets edited, SNAP come on and say words along the lines of “Nothing to see here, move along”

We can only pass on what a site tells us are their prices, we have no control over what they charge, as already stated.

The £15 price for parking also includes cash transactions according to the site operator. We would greatly appreciate evidence of them charging less for cash transactions.

Sorry, I have given you all the details you need. You have called the site today and prompted them to reduce the price, if you look on the quoted threads it is £12 for cash/card. Yet AT THE TIME the SNAP rate was £20+

(€26 = £21.60)

As I said, I have made my feelings known and will not be adding any more before I get accused of having some form of vendetta against a site that I have never visited in my life.

Fella,

I don’t mean to be rude but man up eh.

If you were single you’d need to cook at home. If you cba then it’s a takeaway no change from a Tenner time you’ve had a drink with it (I assume using the kettle is out of the question for you too)

I make money on my night out money because like most I’ve been doing this shot long enough to buy good healthy food to cook, park for free, abuse the services rather than letting then abuse me, prepare my own life to suit the job I do (make healthy meals at home that just need heating etc)

None of the above is rocket science and none of it is any different to what 90% of drivers do.

Just because you drive a lorry doesn’t mean you have to be a fat unwashed thug, Luke amongst others is living proof of this. Perhaps give his videos a watch and learn something from someone who is making the most of what he has available

If you’ve no microwave, buy one for your own benefit, if you’ve no cooker , the same, if you’ve no fridge there’s probably no hope for you unless you’ve only just started on nights out.

It’s not SNAP that’s a scourge it’s whiny ■■■ ■■■■■■■ who especially everything on a [zb] silver tray

Lincoln farm without snap=free night
lincoln farm with snap=2 quid voucher…comprendez  :bulb:

Tipper Tom:

No mate I agree with you, it’s the other 1 I find had to believe lmao

Hi Sam,

Thanks for taking the time to respond to comments.

However, the point you make about companies being liable for tax on “perks” like a shower and meal is hogwash. Meal vouchers historically were given as an incentive to drivers to use Truckstop A over Truckstop B, just up the road. HMRC would see this as a matter between the Driver and the Truckstop, with the driver being obligated to declare benefits in kind on a tax return.

Obviously, no driver has, or will ever declare to HMRC any perks obtained, but you should not mislead companies or drivers into thinking that Companies may be liable for the payment of back taxes because of these arrangements. I must admit I did use Snap for the first time this week at Lincoln Farm, but only because the deal on offer is no worse than paying cash and I have no intention of using Snap unless it’s convenient for me, or benefits me in some way.

Sam, does SNAP or ETP hold a Consumer Credit Licence, i can’t seem to find one for them?

That’s an ofal accusation. :stuck_out_tongue:

The owner of Lincoln Farm was very succesful in the 70’s and 80’s.
He had about 100 trucks on an oil/gas contract.
If you turn right out of the gate, you pass his house with an illuminated crucifix.
If you keep walking past the river, through the hamlet, you endup on the dual carriagway back to LCF.
