Yeh I did put up with smoke in pubs and have had all different kinds of different experiences with female smokers as you suggested, also I have knocked around with a mate for 40 years that is a heavy smoker, I ain’t that fussed. The thread is about smoking in a truck, I’m just a driver that tends to have, an admittedly disproportionate, negative reaction to having the obnoxious stink of smoke in my cab, it’s the way I am. So if you or anybody else think that makes me neurotic, less than manly, or any other label, well that’s up to you, like I said, I ain’t bothered.

I’m sorry I really didn’t mean to imply that you were any of those things, I’m absolutely certain you’re not, its just some people seem to get really worked-up by what I see as trivia amongst the grander scheme of things that trouble our lives, if I had the power of the legislators pen I would find better causes to put it to than poking my nose into people smoking, that’s all, like raising the NMW and making the NMW ‘occupation specific’, ie; a different national minimum wage according to occupation, no offense intended.
I’ve never smoked and wouldn’t want to ,I fetch 200 a week for the old lady who lives near us( 70,s ) ,blacks gold packet,super kings and it’s nigh on £100 a time ,then there’s here bottles of sherry .
I don’t really notice the smell in the house as much as I notice the colour of the living room ,yuk .
But it’s the old girls house ,money so who am I too preach to her

As most of us cool kids smoke we all smoked inside (great to relive the past a bit). There where a few non smokers who objected but where asked to stand outside whilst we smoked then not allowed back in…

Give me the name and address at once! I am going to call the Police, lobby my MP,(what does that mean exactly? ) and wait for it…write a letter to ‘The Guardian’
If I get no joy there, then it’s a leaflet campaign by all of us in the Salvation Army, this must be stopped!!

Even with air freshioners, I can still taste & smell it for days afterwards, I use Neutradol Spray about 5 times a day after a smoker has been in the cab, even if he hasn’t been smoking in the cab, it’s in his clothes & fingers & that gets transferred to the seats & steering wheel.
my previous employer had a great process of not having anyone complain about another driver smoking in the cabs…if you applied for a job and you smoked,you didn’t get the job…no smokers,no ■■■■,no stink,no complaints…easypeasy
