Today I have managed to burn out my 3rd camera, they seem to last about a month. After the second one I have been very good running it only on 12V (it says it can take 24v but I don’t believe it) following the instruction manual to the letter and treating the cable as if it was as fragile as a spiders web. But alas my cab was once again filled with the smell of electrical burning and it gave up the ghost
So if anyone on here is thinking of getting a driving camera please don’t bother with this one as it is a load of ■■■■■. I’m pretty sure it has spent more time in the post than it has on my windscreen.
Available through Google Play. It’s free, which is just as well because it seems a bit hit & miss as to which phones can take it. You also need a decent size memory card and the power lead needs to be permanently connected as it uses phone battery power very quickly.
I have it on my galaxy s2 and find it very good. It can read number plates also has a gps. You have to leave it pluged in charging all the time. And when i get to my drop collection i delete footage however it holds a few hours anyhow with my memory card…
I use a Kodak ZM-1 mini video camera. It can take a 16gb micro sd card which gives about 8hrs VGA video. If nothing happens between deliveries delete & start again. I use a mobile phone holder & a USB extenion cable.
