OK then, who do you think has got the best looking livery on the road.
My vote is for H J Van Bentum’s tankers. They always seem well turned out and I think look superb

And I’d agree.
However, this week, I was shocked to read in a trade publication about how one of their trucks were stopped because, according to a VOSA traffic examiner, ‘Van Bentum was well known for running with mechanical defects.’
I would point out, however, that the case is regarding a driver who accused VOSA of stopping the vehicle unlawfully, ie, the driver did not see the traffic examiner inspect the vehicle - just the tachograph, insurance and green card documents.
The driver lost his case. But that does not mean a vehicle inspection was carried out.
I find it hard to believe Van Bentum operates dodgy wagons.
As 8wheels points out, they always look clean, smart and well looked after. Name another fleet of their size whose trucks are so consistently well turned out. You can see your face in those polished alloy wheels.

The old Gibbs of Fraserburgh (very patriotic)
and has to be said (carefully removing & folding anorak!) a certain originally Carlise based very large operator with a predominately green & white colour scheme does look quite striking.

but when was the last time one was seen? When i saw the pics of these trucks in this thread , i knew it rung a bell with something i’d seen not too long ago about possibly them being stood up. I’ve not had time to read this thoroughly, but maybe i was right?
