Smart tachograph, not so smart driver

Somebody help please as I’m losing the will to live
I have a Scania 69 plate that has the SE5000 Exakt Duo2 Smart Tachograph. We are experiencing a problem when using ferry mode and can’t find any tutorials that explain the full process, and therefore keep getting infringements

Please can someone explain the correct procedure for ferry mode on these smart taxhis. We have to date tried the following:

Arrive at dock, set to rest

When called to board ship, set to ferry mode and proceed onto ship

When parked on ship, set to rest

When disembarking from ship, set to ferry mode which then asks if we want to end ferry mode for which we enter ‘no’

Find a suitable parking area, set to rest until the required 11 hours rest is achieved (plus the ferry mode time but we always take 12 hours in total to make sure)

Last attempt was:

Arrive at dock, set to rest

When called to board ship, set to ferry mode and proceed onto ship (3 minutes used)

When parked on ship, set to rest

When disembarking from ship, just started driving and ferry mode automatically continued countdown from 57 minutes

Find a suitable parking area (10 minutes), set to rest, then on to ferry mode to end, then rest until the required 11 hours rest is achieved (plus the ferry mode time but we always take 12 hours in total to make sure)

Cheers

Jason

Sounds mostly ok to me.
You are arriving at port within 12hrs of shift start time?
(Unless you had a 3hr continuous break during the day)
At shift end there is no need to push ferry mode for a 3rd time, if that is what you are doing?

More than likely it is the software that is being used to analyse your cards, we have the same problem with the head saying everything is ok then when you get the card downloaded it shows an infringement. The first method that you describe was how a VOSA man at Crick told me to do ferry movements but he also added that you must enter end country on arriving in the shipping lanes, just to add that is about the fourth way I have been told to do ferry movements by VOSA so it may or may not be right

^^ Sounds quite possible.
You’re doing it all right. But the analysis software is throwing a wobbly.

The United Kingdom commercial vehicle checking operatives, have said that all these drivers hours offences are a glitch in the software that checks the vehicle records. So, if you would care to move your van out of the way, I need to get going towards Bordeaux

I reckon you’ll still be there all night explaining.

Bonne conduite.

thanks to google translate

E-mail the manufacturer.

Looks good to me. That’s how I do it and I’m not having any problems. As others have said, it might be the software used to analyse it.
