I had a quick chat with the chap that drives this beauty at Smurfit Board in Norwich today and thought I’d take a pic. Nice looking motor and a jolly nice bloke he was too.
Very nice indeed.
Smart thing.
Whats that wheel under the body work for like?
What a beauty.
Bit off topic Joshh, good win last night mate.
its a lighter axle josh saves overall wieght plus it hides under the sideskirt when the axle is up, its quite comman nowaways means hauliers can work at 44 tonnes
Never noticed that little wheel Hutchie until you pointed it out, what’s it all about? is it on air lift or there all the time? I remember Mercs years ago having a little second Axel.
It’s a pusher axle. It lifts on air in the same way a twin steer would, but is fixed and doesn’t steer.
Cheers for that Dids, know what your saying, getting old mate job to keep up with!!! all these modern things.

You may have to wait a looooooooong time then
is that a wheel barrow wheel i can see under the skirt
thats one of Tony Everrits motors, hes from Stowmarket, as far as i know Peanuts is still driving it. If he had a bit of a beard dids it was him, he is a top bloke and builds hot rods in his spare time.
them air horns look a bit big but it dose looks smart
the axle is a 4 ton push type, usually seen on tippers and tankers where its ideal for bulk loads. heres my example below.
poor old paddy carnt work now as all these daf boys keep knicking his wheel barrow wheels
no, poor old paddy cant work because he’s being undercut by the poles!..
