Passed my Class 2 in May last year, took me 6 month to get a start, and that was on 7.5t doing home delivery round the country. Finally, after 6 month of doing that. I start Class 2 work tomorrow.
Well done mate you must be over the moon!
reading that it took you 6 months to get a start it makes me realise how lucky I was getting worked almost immediately after passing my class 2(agency) and then moving onto full time work on class 1 within weeks off passing!
Good luck mate who is it you are going to work for and is it agency or full time?!
Got made redundant Tuesday, then called in the next day by the boss. Said he was getting a 18 ton in (usually runs all 7.5t) and he offered me the job of trunking down from Durham to Milton Keynes a few times a week. Extra bit pay and night out money too.
Well Done.
It’ll be nicer out on the bigger lorries.
Just remember the difference in speed limits

Happy days! off the puddle jumpers and onto bigger an better things!
Good luck dude!
Gonna stop on Class 2 for a few year then plan on doing my Class 1 when I’m 25 and the insurance is lower etc.

Maybe you should consider doing your class 1 now and then when you hit 25 you can say you have x amount of years experience on class 1
You never know you may even get a start on the c1… being in the right place at the right time!!
If you have the funds i personally recommend doing it as soon as you can!

I agree completely. Get it out the way sooner rather than later, im 23 and had 3 jobs driving class 1, some companies seem to like young people driving their lorries, think they just like to give people a start and from my experience when you try and get on to class 1 they wont be the slightest bit interested in what experience you’ve got on class 2, the first thing they’ll say is “how much ARTIC experience how you got”.
