…with fast bits.
So. Out in this old flatbed 56 plate 7.5t lorry today. Learnt last week how to net and sheet with and without straps.
M40s there was a puff of white smoke, jarring feeling and alarms so onto the hard shoulder as one does.
Had a look around and couldn’t find a problem but had an amber ABS fault. Called it in to the company to find it was a common occurrence on their fleet of DAF’s and if drivable should continue, so did.
A34, not even reaching Oxford and it escalated. Firebrigade response was helpful and by then the strong smelling thick blue smoke pouring off the front drivers side wheel revealed where the fault was.
Breakdown people were adamant no account held but company I’m driving for had a shouty match breifly then they suddenly found the account. Miraculous!
Think I’ll pull the curtains for an hours kip, now the adrenaline has worn off and the smoke has cleared…
Short driving day…
