Sloppy lazy practises

One of the places I work has three drivers sharing two trucks. Just come back from 5 days off. Jumped into truck this morning. Ad blue warning on. Quarter tank diesel. And in the red on fridge diesel. All three commodities are in yard. When I left on Wednesday I left all full.

I was always taught to leave truck ready to roll.

Rant over

Because the ratio of proper drivers to S.W.A’ s Is about 3 to 1 which means somewhere along the line it gets fuelled and cleaned.

Am I turning into a grumpy old git or is this behavior on the increase?

Looks like you need to change your ways me thinks     :sunglasses: :sunglasses:

I know but its a kick up the bum for them or won’t it register/waste of time■■?

They would probably top them up rather than fill them.

did you teach/ educate noobs 30 years ago? :sunglasses: if you don’t pass on valuable experience this is what it boils down to! not hard! as they used to say at depot para " KISS! " keep it simple stupid :grimacing:

We were told years ago that we had to diesel up at tesco sites ,daventry, balborough ,goole etc so we often have trucks with 1/2 - 1/4 tank of diesel in trucks or tris in our yard
If were doing a chilled run and there is no tesco site on route then we can diesel up before we go as long as we can get a minium of. 150 ltrs in the tank,if not we have too go with what we have .
Too a agency driver comming in for the first time I guess he thinks were a idle bunch of so-so,s but it’s been depot policy ,and as I say for a fair few years

I would add its fine for a green fleet tramper,bio- mass driver too come in too our depot and fill there trucks, one of those crazy ideas that makes no sense at all :unamused: :unamused:

I leave a wagon as I find it, if its empty when I start, I try my best to leave it empty when I finish.
Having said that, I drive the same wagon 99.9% of the time & I prefer the Trunky Monkeys to leave the fuelling up to me, as they usually get more diesel down the front of the tank & in the cab, than what goes in the tank ! Grrrrr !

Always left as found …

I drive trucks on a Saturday that are allocated to individual drivers. Some are immaculate and I make sure they are left that way. Others are filthy inside, they either stay that way or get a clean up with my trusty wet wipes if considered uninhabitable.

I couldn’t be that much of ■■■■ to someone else. You have every right to have a whinge. How are some inconsiderate bellends allowed to share our air■■?

One of my pet hates is ■■■■■ that use someone`s truck and then leave it empty. We had one who when he had to use another motor would just park it up, no fuel no defects reported etc, everytime he did this, until he ran out of fuel about 100 yards from the yard one morning.

Good lad,do you fancy another weekend job at our yard, its not unusual for a unit to be parked up with suspestion left up in the air, seat belt clicked in ,lead for air suspention wrapped round the side sun visor and window left down with clip boards ,scrap paper and coffee cups all over the cab, weekend wonders :frowning: :frowning:

Always fuel up when Im back fuel pump in the yard we all have fobs so its 5 mins to do, , always put the trailer or a rigid on a bay for the shunters.
As for clean cabs we are all permanent and everyone swops cabs every day so its common courtesy to leave it tidy.

Where I work, each driver is assigned to a truck each day so they know who was driving it if it comes back looking like a bombs gone off it in.

Went to my allocated truck the other morning to discover the back full of clingfilm, cardboard and empty pallets, quarter tank of fuel, n/s indicators not working and o/s window stuck fully down. Nice one!

We have some who only put enough diesel in for there shift ?!? Crazy for the sake of 5 mins to fill it right up lol

Wow. I’ve never come across such a system. Your company must be at the cutting edge of innovation.
