Agency drivers always leave trampers trucks in a state … Agency drivers treated better than us full time drivers … How about that
but couldnt you say that for all transport companys? not just the green army?
We dont use agency…
I wouldnt work for them personally as i prefer working for “old skool” companies, but i dont have any issues, all the drivers i’ve met have been very friendly, they dont look down their nose at you despite what is made out on here and they all look smart and well presented.
Met a top bloke from stobarts a while ago, had an address, “tesco daventry” i think it was and thats all i had, was parked on a bay next to him so asked for directions, told me where to go, which entrance (as there were a couple) and even drew a map for me, what more can you say.

not all dont i am agency and spend a fair bit of time in stobart wagons from most of vehicles i have driven stobart drivers leave a large percentage of them in a [zb] state so dont blame agency drivers for the slobs stobarts employs
You both left out the word some
I said a large percentage same thing near enough
hands up! i spotted that after i posted, teach me to skim read
Nothing wrong with Stobarts, they are just like any other haulage company…or should i say the posh term for haulage firms…logistic specialist…or what ever they want to call themselves…the job is clean,no truck is more than 3yrs old,all the trls are no more than 5yrs old,all the tackle is serviced and repaired, all but a few of the depots have clean showers and toilets that are cleaned twice a day dispite the animals that seem to use them, depots that have resteraunts that are open until late in the evening, all the depots are all on hard standing with no 6inches of mud and ■■■■■ to drop ya trls in,truck washes at most of the big depots and all the Tesco sites,as a tramper you take home nearly £600 a week,£22 n/o dinner money and fuel bonus every day which is tax free…i just think that most drivers now will moan at any and everything but they still keep driving, truck driving as changed and is still changing by the week and with all the mod cons being fitted to trucks, they want to know what ya doing and they can see what ya doing and drivers who have tossed the job of for years are now getting caught out so what do they do,yep you got it…the job is ■■■■■■■■■ job is crap,im leaving,im going here,im going to work there, yep ever job as its pit falls and we can all have bad days but all in all after working at Stobarts for 16yrs…yeh i still think its a good place to work and ive seen many a driver leave and then 3 months later try and get his job back, everybody thinks the grass is greener on the other side and theres many that have found out its not but each to there own…yep Stobarts is a lot better than 90% of all the others out there…opionions may vary…PS…if anybody knows of a good job out there, let me know first…lol

How much do they watch you on the tracker? Say if you pulled into services for a ■■■■ would they be on the phone?
I am a Stobart driver and I think they are good to work for.
The office staff treat me like a human being rather than like a walking, talking turd.
I work for the chilled side which, is alright for some but not my cup of tea, I hate being sat around for hours on end in RDC’s although i’ve never had planners on my back pushing me or asking where i am after being sat at collection for 5 hours asleep on shelf. Money is better than most, great tax free meal allowance and driver bonus which seems impossible NOT to achieve. I agree with earlier comment that you either get no hours or are maxed out, never seems to be an in between.
Ive had alot of other drivers in RDC’s give me the ‘‘oh no, another Stobart driver’’ look as i’ve walked into the waiting room, and the ‘elf’ or ‘TV wannabe’ comments, but once these drivers have got over the first 5 minutes of abuse they start with the oh’s and aww’s as i answer there questions about the job.
There are loads of different jobs and different people, some would love it, some would hate it. some people would say they hate it when they actually love it. Some people just enjoy moaning and wouldnt be happy where ever they worked. I’m one of those that Love it.
I enjoyed my time at Stobarts. I was moved off night tramping last December and I loved it most of the time.Left to get on with it when not planned by Appleton/Crick. A good starting point for any newbie IMHO.
Ended up doing train boxes out of Tilbury and finished March this year. The job was as hard as you make it on Stobarts. I always considered the Job as easy money when tramping. I personally wouldn’t go back though. Same as Diddley

I got sacked from stobbards for late deliveries because everywhere i delivered too insisted on giving me a VIP tour of the factory/warehouse/football stadium/forrestry ect ect
I think I probably would have sacked you not for being late but for your inability to even spell the company name correctly!
I work for Stobarts out of Hawleys Lane and I have found them to be nothing but reasonable. They ask me to do a fair days work for a fair days pay and if I keep Customer Services informed of unavoidable delays etc, I never hear about it again.
In return I give them that fair days work, I don’t ■■■■■ about every little thing that doesn’t go to plan and wherever possible I improvise and adapt in order to get the job done.
A sweeping generalisation I know, but there just seems to be a general moan culture in the UK (Yes I am a Brit before you ask) and I find it makes life much more pleasant if I can remain positive throughout my working day.
I worked for Stobarts from 1990 to 1996 ( only left because I moved back over here).I did enjoy the job as It was so easy. There was some RDC work at that time mainly Safeways & Sainsburys, but I didn’t do that much of It. There was only a hand full of Shift drivers as most of the drivers were Trampers mainly out for the whole week sometimes 2 weeks (I did a couple of three week stint’s In a FL10 !! ■■■■■■■ mad…). There was a lot of good work If you were Tramping e.g. Load Inverness, tip London.Load London, tip Rotterdam. Load Amsterdam, tip Brum etc…If you were a UK based Tramper the work was just as good, but you were only out for the week…Happy day’s…
So far so good for me working with them, my first wage i was happy with, the planners abd staff behind the desk are helpful all the chesterfield drivers been helpful too giving me advice bouteach drops,iv found the facilities at my base are top notch and the tesco staff equally as friendly, units clean and well serviced as are the et trailers and tesco deckers, alsi enjoting the general haulage side of things,of course im a newbie but i feel like iv been there years and settled in nicely,iv also had the stereotypical comments from other drivers like my pal hiribo but at end of the day i wear the uniform and get paid to do the job im told to do in a safe and proffesional manner,i think the way the guys at the top run the firm well, they want smart units, trailera and well presented drivers looks good for the corporate image and it makes me feel smart, feels and looks better than goin into an rdc drivers room with some driver with his gur hangin over his stained ripped jeabs and greasy hiviz lol, aint got a bad word folks
