if a wheels been off i do them roughly 100km and then the following 2 days as they will work loose
If wheel been changed nuts are torqued red pointers put on,unit sits minimum of 45 mins then they are retorqued.
Have a look at these wheel nut indicators, they are the answer in my opinion…

Most instances of wheels coming loose is rust on the hub flange. When ever a wheel is removed it should be descaled to get rid of the rust.
Evening gents, any daf drivers having any incidents of front wheel nuts working loose■■?
Or is it just on our fleet of yellow trolleys, yeah you know whose they are.
are they alloys or steel wheels? could it be that the torque wrench need’s calibrating, or there doing the wheel nuts to the wrong torque?

they are steel wheels, fitter that came out to me few weeks ago mentioned the same as you,to check calibration of torque wrench.

What Daf and how hold ■■
they are 07 85`s approx all done about 850000k s.
i run XF’s, never had a problem with them
as suggested, check the calibration on the torque wrench

who’s torqing them and how often
also have the wheels been off recently
Daf wheel nut covers, how do you visually check yer nuts wae these on?
sea frog:

its either on site tyre fitter or own mechanics.most times wheels have been off prior to them working loose.

Ours dont have nut covers, its just the yellow pointers.i check them by hand at start of my shift.
if the wheels have been off recently, they nuts should be checked regularly after 50 miles, as the wheel settles onto the hub and the nuts can work loose
most tyre fitters put a label on the vehicle to remind the drivers to get them re-checked after 50 miles
