I’m thinking of cancelling my Sky subscription only have Entertainment (yeah right) and Knowledge (repeats). I pay by dd so can I just cancel it and forget about it? I’ve heard it takes ages over the phone, but the deal I got about 7 years ago was free equipment. Would this be taken back or would this be deemed too old now?
Going free view myself in October.

After 7 years they wont want the equipment back or charge you for it, after 7 years you must be nearly out of contract

It costs about £20/month but we watch less on these channels and more on freeview. Will Sky still work without any subscription like freeview, or once the card’s expired it all goes blank?
I called them a couple of months ago to cancel my movies as it was a waste of time and about £12 I think. They said why don’t you keep it for 9 months more, and we will give it you for £15 less!!! So I have kept everything and am £15 a month better off!
They are desperate not to lose you they will always give you an offer!

You need to give 30 days notice I think, but it could be worthwhile phoning them, they will do you a much better deal if you mention you have been talking to Virgin about taking a package with them
From what I’ve seen recently, they’d have to give me free viewing, the programs are awful. If I did cancel, can you still use the equipment to watch free channels?
My mate was a Sky engineer, very rarely if at all do they collect the equipment back, it costs more to do that then than leave it with you!

Recently called them to cancel mine. They didn’t want the kit back, and yes, you can still watch free to air channels without a card.
I too was fed up with watching repeats.
You can still get the free view when you cancel but if you have the HD you can’t use the record/rewind functions ! No you don’t have to give them equipment back and 30days cancellation !! I switched from sky to virgin it works out cheaper and I got the Internet aswell !! Hope this helps
