pictures of skip wagons please …
A few oldies from a company who were based in Manchester James Bacon Ltd (photos with permission of Linda Bacon)
There is a bit of a story with the first picture. It was taken in the yard where I ran my wagons from and also in that yard was a firm who worked for the council repairing street lights and signs. They had a skip that all their recyclable stuff was put in. Behind the building in the background was the local recycling centre. Every Friday two old ladies came into the yard and got a black bag of rubbish out of the boot and threw it in the skip. Nobody had the heart to tell them they were in the wrong yard so somebody took it round to the proper place every week.
Blimey, they really are fuggly aren’t they.
.
Not very far from their base in Leyland , are these two very clean and tidy DAF LF skip carriers.
Photographed at a Transport Show, British Commercial Vehicle Museum, Leyland.
Cheers, cattle wagon man.
Another DAF LF, - this time belonging to Jones Waste Services.
I think this photograph was taken at Truckfest Haydock , on a drier day.
Cheers, cattle wagon man.
