Plasterboard is no longer allowed on landfill, and they really do get upset if you tip any .
And I mean “upset” !!! Threaten to bar you for life and red hot pokers , all the business .
The reason is that plasterboard holds the leachate (poison )in the tip instead of it gradually soakin away to the sump where Billy Bowie takes it away.
We have a waste transfer station where it’s sorted and taken away , costs more than asbestos to get rid of.

Plasterboard doesn’t burn very well either, unless you can throw small lumps onto the fire and feed with lorry tyres. :smiling_imp:

Who comes up with these stupid pointless findings though? If the tip is clay lined and sealed then who cares what the plasterboard does? It’s like I said earlier who also had the stupid idea to clay line inert tips? Nobody clay lines the oversights when muck is used on site to bring up the finished floor levels, and how many golf courses have clay cells built before the courses are landscaped with subsoil?
The same bright spark that encouraged skip firms to buy Trommel machines to segragate the waste fines, then declare the fines as industrial waste. They weren’t industrial waste when in the skip with all the other rubbish.
Do some useful research like a cure for cancer or alzheimers disease not worrying what a tonne of soil does twenty feet below ground.
