As per the photo, when running empty (skel only) should these extender things at the rear of the skel be folded in or is it ok to run as is ready for the next 40’ box?

Can’t see a problem as long as your underun bar is level with them.

if im empty skell i run with them out unless i just got rid of a 20ft and going to be collecting another as for the underrun bar stays in unless its a 45

Not even handed application in yet.
Can’t see why you can’t run with them out as they fit in the standard dimensions and realistically hardly likely to catch anything. I used to fold them in just out of habit
