heres a few for you…
hi my dad was an owner driver bk in the early 80’s and he had a v10 1632 i’ll try and find some pics
A couple of old beasties my dad drove in the '80’s/'90’s.
Barry Selfes merc on solstor, doing trips to italy an greece, and one of his dads mercs s j selfe london.
Boyzee, that D plate 2035 is the one I drove for Sid, it had major gearbox issues though & spent a fair bit of time in Lancasters!
I had a 1735 from new G456 XOO, fastest thing I’ve ever driven, I was doubled up once doing a last minute before xmas ‘quick’ Italy with Davey68 & had it flat out along the 6 Franc motorway at Chamberey at 2500rpm both mirrors folded into the side of the cab, I nearly jumped out my bloody skin! It was one of those motors where everything must’ve been perfect in the engine tolerances, I once run down with one of Unitrucs F16s (F160 ■■■ which i later bought) & we had the same load on & I pushed it up the hill on the north side of the Tunnel du Chat, it really was a quick motor.
I also had a 1625 half cab on hire, dreadful thing. All Mercs need a turbo, had a 2033 which went very well too & did a trip to italy in an S reg 1632 once & once was enough, poxy thing had no night heater & the thermostats must’ve been NFG as it was impossible to get any heat through the vents, I ended up buying ski trousers & moon boots, not a pretty sight
Do you remember a guy called Martin Harvey? He lived in the east end. I’m sure he drove for B&J Spedition, I got stuck for 5 days in Chalon during a drivers strike in '92 and parked up near Martin and 500 other trucks on the national through Chalon - Saone.!!

I wont be happy until someone posts pictures of some Graham Gardner trucks.
Remember the numbers on the doors
Remember going with my brother in a 1628 he drove for Transorganics, in about 1990. E448 YLG, it was really smart due too a resent repaint, 4x2 sleeper cab pulling a triaxle Whale slurry tanker. Went ok on the flat but you needed to blindfold it before attempting to crest a hill!!!
The credit for this photo goes to Bubbleman as its been borrowed from scrapbook memories. As its a V8 1644 its only right its posted here!

Dieseldave: Were you on Barco when Freddy Sparks was there, before he went to Alberti Santi?
My 1st new truck was this 1633, never missed a beat in 3 years, pulled like a train, could never keep up with the volvo’s of BKG on the flat but just ate them up on the hills
