Any body know if Simpson bros’ Tynside are still operating ? , i realize i haven’t seen any of these on the A1 for a while , until today when i noticed one of there Scanias with all the logo’s removed from the cab…
Heard the other day that Elddis have their TPN work and a bit of a flurry about them going out the game but can’t say whether it’s true or not. I know a little bit back bailiffs closed off their yard but thst was “sorted” out. Can’t say I’ve heard anything much of late. Like yourself though now you mention it I haven’t seen much of their fleet as of late

Weren’t they in the Sunday Times rich list a few years ago? Maybe they just retired or had enough and closed the business.
LLP normally means “in liquidation”
Limited Liability Partnerships will try to trade out of difficulty by cutting costs, and distribution of assets if any.
Yes they are working out of the old Co-op yard in Stanley, drum road
Shared with DSV …

The old Co-op Yard was Birtley IIRC, It was posted on TNUK A while ago that they had gone down, But Recent rumours say that they are still trading, Its a sad state of affairs when an old firm like Simpsons hit the dust ,They fired up in the 20s with a couple of four wheeler Leylands , And went from strength to strength in those days to build up a good fleet of motors, A few of my pals drove for them, Regards Larry.

Past a “Simpsons” artic yesterday pulling a “Simpsons” trailer on A1 however the white Scania tractor unit had no markings on it, almost as if they’ve been removed. I seem to remember they were advertising a few months ago for drivers for a as then new contract!
Informed this morning from a guy who has worked there for 11years that DTS out of Cramlington have apparently gone to the wall.

DTS were sold a few years ago by John although they still operated out of Cramlington he did keep the caravan side of thing
I noticed a few weeks ago all the wording was removed from tractor units but phone number stayed on.
I saw yesterday that the same trucks now have a logo on LNE.
Logistics North East
The phone number and some of the drivers are the same
